Koi fish represent good fortune, purity, and perseverance. These are all qualities we strive for with the arrival of a new year!
The folding of animals teaches us that variation with each individual, whether it be color or appearance, resolutely benefits the final result! Imperfections possess a unique charm and diversity eliminates monotony.
Happy 2026 everybody!

As we near the zenith of the season of giving, it is appropriate for us to spread something truly unique. Last weekend, we folded origami snowflakes out of a special gold tissue-foil paper. Although it was not an easy feat, the results were worth the meticulous detailing!

Happy Advent and final weeks to all!
Nothing completes a classic Christmas tree better than the iconic star at the tippity top. Have a small tree but not a star to crown it? The solution lies in origami. Happy decorating!

Today, we hosted our 3rd group lesson at Ivy Park Senior Living in Fullerton, California. Collectively, the participants folded 10 butterflies during the hour-long instruction. With the remaining time, we shifted our focus to folding miniature roses to pair with the butterflies.
All in all, it was a very productive day and we look forward to returning in December!

Amici Music Festival at Pepperdine University
At this music camp, I had a great opportunity to teach origami to musicians in elementary and middle school. Through this experience, I learned the importance of patience and also learned to value this portion of time I had each day to share my passion with others.

Why share origami?
Origami is all about the process of transforming a plain square piece of paper into a remarkable sculpture.
Origami is both time-consuming and requires a high level of attention to detail. This is why origami is a great way to teach fine motor skills and patience.
